I recently treated myself and turned a stop-over in London into a short and sweet 3 day mini vacay. London is easily one of my favourite cities in the world. Even though I've only been there twice, there is a familiarity that makes me feel right at home. I had a relaxing time strolling through the city, trying different cafés, and spending an embarrasing amount of time at Selfridges. Instead of coming home with clothes I might not wear in a few years, I bought something a little more timeless - a beautiful Wedgwood fine bone china teapot and matching cup + saucer. I've been enjoying tea every weekend since I've been home and I have to say, it's more fun in lace and pearls ;)
The best part of this trip has to be my indulgent afternoon tea at Ladurée inside Harrod's. No photos were iallowed but I managed to sneak a couple. It's hard to pick a favourite when the entire afternoon menu was delightful. The caramel tea was perfect without milk or sugar and the croissants were buttery and flaky. The Ispahan has to be the most beautiful thing I've ever seen. It's an oversized rose flavoured macaron with fresh raspberries, lychee, and rose petal crème. Just thinking about it makes me want to jump on a plane and head back to Ladurée for seconds!
