I feel completely grateful to have been able to travel to some amazing places in 2012. Whether it was for business, family visit, or just to explore, I absolutely loved the experiences in each of the 9 countries I've had the pleasure of visiting: Ireland, UK, Italy, Greece, Turkey, China, Singapore, Indonesia, and USA.
Having moved around often and immigrated from Asia, I've experienced culture shock from a young age and I believe it's the best way to broaden one's perspective. My father has always encouraged me to embrace my curiosity and be aware of world affairs. I grew up with the Chinese proverb instilled in my mind: 读万卷书不如行万里路 (It is better to travel ten thousand miles than to read ten thousand books). The idea of boarding a plane for an overseas destination that I know little about is the most exciting thing for me. To walk the streets of a strange town, taste fresh local food, observe different traditions and way of life, and immerse myself in another culture are experiences I would never trade.
I'm thankful that traveling has truly given me a broader perspective. It has made me aware of the importance of recognizing different cultures and understanding that there is always more than one solution to a problem. It's how you look at it. Differently.
Here are some photo highlights from my travels in 2012:
{ Ireland: Co Clare and Dublin }

{ UK: London }

{ Italy: Rome, Naples, Capri, Messina, Taormina }

{ Greece: Athens, Santorini, Mykonos, Rhodes }

{ Turkey: Kusadasi (Ephesus)}

{ Singapore & Indonesia }
